Hey everyone, I just wanted to say sorry to anybody that may or may not have gotten upset over what was on their dash a few days ago.
I’m gunna admit I’m ignorant to a lot of things but I’m trying to fix that. After actually talking to people about the topic and doing research on things that were brought up, I can only hope to educate myself on what was talked about and what may come up in the future.
Thanks for being patient with me.
there’s so many opinions on these issues, varying from extremely liberal to extremely activist-y, and both trans and non trans people fall on either ends. there’s no way to really make everybody happy on this topic.
Final reply to this topic on this blog.
*Thank you*. It’s not a black and white issue and people are treating it like it is/should be.
Maybe, maybe not. But haha, yeah, that’s probably a good idea.
This is over. Plenty of other places for it to happen.
I wont agree or disagree but my own personal experience with people has led me to believe otherwise.
I don’t have commentary to add to this but *shrug* opinion to be posted.
It’s not problematic, but the asterisk is often used to include people who are non-dysphoric (trans politics, don’t get into it)
Complicated, really. Then there’s “You are not trans if you are not dysphoric”, which is something I personally agree with, but I’m not just going to up and invalidate someones identity because “I don’t agree with it”.
I use trans* to refer to either transgender or transsexual which I have seen used by people, I didn’t want to exclude either. That’s why I use the term. But if “trans*” is problematic, I’ll change my language.
why does it have to be mutually exclusive? trans otherkins exist. and, yes, a lot of otherkin dont exactly decide to be so. its rude to imply otherwise
I don’t think they meant to insinuate that it was mutually exclusive.
I agree with you. It’s a degradation to pronouns. As a DFAB Neutrois, it’s hard enough for people to respect my pronouns and identity but bullshit like that leads others to thinking *everybody* is a trans*trender or just using pronouns/dysphoria to be a cool kid. Hah, because hating the body one is born in and having such a high risk of being murdered or disrespected is fun, right?
Then again, not all otherkin just wake up one day and decide “I’m a rabbit”. I’ve heard it described as a process of self discovery and maybe even of form of personal ascension. Neat stuff, really. I can’t imagine what it is like for them though, because I personally am not otherkin.
((//I’m sorry if this was meant to be a confession, but the way you wrote it made it sound more like you wanted it to be a conversation?))
Unless stated otherwise, yes!
furries have mastered the skies and they must be stopped before they conquer land or sea
Really, it’s no problem! I want this to be a safe space for everyone. Though, I do have strong views, this blog if for others and it is not my personal page so I do not need to preach. Unless of course something really messed up is said, I will call it out.
Oh, sorry! I had a notice to check something, but it should work now!
