I feel like some day when my muzzle is grey and the fandom ancient. We will STILL be bickering about what the fandom is and isnt. Furries are weird (there is NO denying that). Whatever your interests are; if you like something cool, if you dont, avoid it. This shit be simple people!

I really wish it was easier to make friends in the fandom. I have struck up plenty of conversations with furries on FA and steam, but the friendships never stick for some reason. I only have two furry friends, and I met them both many many years ago. It just sucks that most of the time when I add furries on skype they only want to yiff or RP. I want REAL friends!

I get seriously freaked out when furries try to add my Facebook. And they get offended when I state that its a personal Facebook account.

It feels invasive and pushing after a while. I mean…please, I’m a furry but that doesn’t mean I will add you to my PERSONAL FACEBOOK ACCOUNT, where I post PERSONAL STUFF.

I had been thinking of having another Facebook account for everyone to add and to stop sending me friend requests for me to reject and later on read them getting mad at me via private messages or in public.

And when I say “please, this is my private facebook. I really don’t want to add everyone just because they are furry”, they get mad or say “OH EXCUSE ME PRINCESS”. Srsly…let me decide if I want to keep in touch with you in the first place.

The whole fandom feels most of the time like people trying to push themselves into other people shouting “HEY I’M A FURRY WANNA BE FRIENDS? LETS BE FRIENDS”. No. Please, as someone that suffers from some social anxiety, I would prefer to decide if I want you around or not. Let me take my time, don’t make me feel that if I don’t accept your fucking friend request I’m the most shittiest horrible person in the whole world.

I was once laughed at for the amount I charged for art. A lot of popular artists can charge a good price and even over, while the majority of us have to deal with below minimum pay per hour for our art. And it’s the only way to make any money without being a popufur God. I find it a little sad that a lot people are more interested in the big name rather than the amount of time and work that goes into art.

I cant understand why Hybrids are something furries are against. The only argument I have ever heard is “They are unrealistic.”

Dragons are unrealistic
Gryphons are unrealistic
Purple Rabbits are unrealistic
Anthropomorphic animals are /unlrealistic/

If thats your only argument you can bug off. My fursona is A German shepherd, Caracal, Chameleon, and White Tail Deer hybrid. Also known as a Chimera. (Not all Chimeras are the Goat/snake/lion mix, they are of any unrelated species or breeds)

I think her design is original. and so are a lot of other hybrids. Dont judge a fur by their fursona. they are expressing themselves. If someone wants to be a Ratarooflyingpanther let them.

I pick a shapeshifter as my persona, or fursona if you wish to call it that because I have trouble showing any personification of myself and remain happy with it for very long. I have a hard time sticking to just one thing and like to jump around to different aspects of my personality as a whole to define myself, in which it forces me to give an assortment of images or avatars to just show what kind of person I really am. I really hope people learn to understand that some cannot really define themselves in one thing but do it in a series of different creatures.

I’m the only fur in the area to my knowledge, except for a friend of mine that I don’t see often, due to hectic schedules and life happening. Although my boyfriend and friends accept me, I still wish I had more furs to hang out, geek out about fursuits and art, and role play with, in RL instead of having to stay at home spending time on SecondLife. It’s just not the same.

I don’t agree with shunning or hating on people who fetishize things that are strange or are in the fandom purely for the sex and I will respect those differences: whatever floats your boat. However respect goes both ways and that means respecting the people who aren’t into whatever you are but show respect anyway. To those who are rather “outspoken” with your fetishes and your art portraying it: Please respect that not everyone wants to see it, and that not everyone wants it to represent their experience in the fandom.
